Friday, May 27 – Arrive and settle in. 

4 pm – Ranch is open for check in.

5 pm – 7 pm – Taco hour together in the bunkhouse with a focus on getting to know one another. 

7:30 pm – Opening lecture on Working Equitation – Introduction to the sport and what the judges are looking for. Will include video!

Saturday

7:00 am – Breakfast together in the bunkhouse

Introduction to WE Dressage – learn the dressage patterns for Intro and Novice A

8 – 9:00 Whole group instruction on foot (no horses)

9:30 – 10:30 – Group #1 Instruction on horseback

10:30 – 11:30 – Group #2 Instruction on horseback

11:30 – 12:30 – Group #3 Instruction on horseback

12:45 – 1:45 – Lunch together in the bunkhouse

Intro to Ease of Handling Obstacles (groups of 7)

2-3 pm – Set up a course together (topics covered: distances within and between obstacles, important considerations when designing courses)

3:15 – 4:30 – Group #1 Instruction on horseback

4:45 – 6:00 – Group #2 Instruction on horseback

6:30 – Dinner together in the bunkhouse

7:00 – Dinner Entertainment….WE Fashion Show

7:30 pm – Further instruction on Working Equitation, using videos

Sunday

7:00 am – Breakfast together in the bunkhouse


Ease of Handling Obstacles, Part 2 (groups of 7)
8 – 9:30 Group #1 Instruction on horseback

9:30 – 11:00 – Group #2 Instruction on horseback

11:15 – 12:15 Course Walk – on foot, no horses (a LOT of instruction happens during course walks!)

12:15 – 1:00 – Lunch together in the bunkhouse,
Individual “Ride a Course” – ride the EOH with oral feedback, then do a “schooling show” ride (with a scoresheet to keep).
